| HITCHCOCK ENTRAPPED
Ref: M1408 |
| Ron Guariento is a film and television producer and a lecturer in Film Studies at Newcastle University |
| His films often reveal Alfred Hitchcock as a cornered obsessive. Yet, the Director’s genius was to work through his personal psyche within those films, several exposing the master filmmaker at his most troubled. It’s that candid, open expression which ultimately brands him a great artist. This extended course will study three of his classic films bound up with suspicion and paranoia, in which a vital sense of place signals sinister entrapment: North by Northwest, Shadow of a Doubt, and Notorious. |
