GEOLOGY OF THE LAKES: AN INTRODUCTION

Why does Lake District topography vary so much from rolling Kendal foothill, to jagged Central Fell peak, to majestic yet rounded Skiddaw north mountain? Travel through almost 500 millon years of geological history – stories of ancient oceans, volcanoes, Himalayan-scale ranges, tropical seas, swamps, deserts and ice ages. Includes trips out with walking – bring boots and outdoor gear!
