18:30 Fri 1 May – 16:00 Sun 3 May 2020
Why does Lake District topography vary so much from the rolling foothills of Kendal, to the jagged peaks of the Central Fells, to the majestic yet rounded Skiddaw massif in the north? Travel through 500 million years of geological history with stories of ancient oceans, volcanoes, Himalayan-scale ranges, tropical seas, swamps, deserts and ice ages. Includes trips out with walking – bring boots and outdoor gear! N.B.: Ends at Tea Break 4pm on the last day. Endorsed by the Geological Society.
