GOD & KING – ROYALISTS IN THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR 1640-60

*NEW* Wrong but Wromantic – the famous quote from 1066 and all that sums up many perceptions about the Royalists. We will attempt to challenge this stereotype, asking, amongst other things, who were the Royalists, why they fought and how they coped with defeat.
This course, and its accompanying course, should have taken place last year but was postponed due to a last minute illness for Andrew, the tutor. We decided to reschedule them as a number of people had seemed keen for it and we had to disappoint them at the last minute. Luckily Andrew has recovered and we look forward to welcoming him back up here!
