A look at the music and musicians of the Eastern European bloc: Bohemia, Czech countries, Poland, Hungary, Yugoslavia etc. Explore their considerable influence on the wider development of music, mainly from the C18th onwards with migrant composers Stamitz, Vanhal, Gassmann et al. C19th nationalism grew in the hands of Smetana, Dvorak, and Liszt, developing in the C20th with Bartok and Kodaly.
