Towards the end of the 19th century, science had thrown into doubt the universe as God’s creation and Nietzsche felt that Western Philosophy was ill-equipped to explain the modern world. Philosophy split into the continental and analytical paths, and the world wars coloured the moral philosophy of the second half of the 20th century.
