PAINT WITH A BEGINNER'S MIND
Whenever you find yourself thinking “I can’t do it” or “I don’t know how” add a three-letter word to your mental dialogue. Add the word “yet”. Say “I can’t do it, yet” and “I don’t know how, yet“. – Marion Boddy-Evans
LINDA BIRCH’S WEEKLY PAINTING OBSERVATION
This is a colour exercise, and will offer you something that is different from your usual approach. You may use any media (not pen and ink though)
Project: Paint a landscape from a photograph, but using ONLY the following colours:
Cadmium Red, Alizarin or Rose Madder, Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber
Please choose a landscape that has none of the above colours (ie not a particularly ‘red’ landscape). You have to translate all the colours you see into tones of red!
You may of course mix the colours with each other
