Amanda Oakes (Yoga)

  • during the week is a health professional for the NHS from N. Cumbria
  • teaches according the Viniyoga tradition – a therapeutic form of Yoga that centres around the individual
Replacing Anne McDarby (retiring June 2018) for our weekend Yoga Retreats, Amanda was Anne’s first recommendation as she was trained in the same tradition of Viniyoga, a style especially suited to a weekend at Higham. She also teaches locally in her spare time.
Courses are open to all. At the start of a course, you will be asked about any medical conditions that may affect your activity and the Tutor will seek to propose Yoga movements that will take any into account.

“Loved the fact that is was a ‘new’ type of Yoga for me.
Amanda’s explanations/instructions are brilliant and none of the postures created pain or stiffness afterwards.”
“An enjoyable weekend of well-planned and professionally delivered Yoga by an excellent, knowledgeable Tutor. As always the weekend was fully supported by the wonderful staff and amenities of Higham hall making it a first class experience. Thank you.”
