  • Held a number of senior posts, including Head of Libraries and Cultural Policy for Cumbria
  • Recipient of a Churchill Travelling Fellowship studying Viking remains in Scandinavia and Greenland
  • Published several articles on archaeological subjects and a guide to Lakeland Museums
