Ian Morison (Astronomy)

Emeritus Gresham Professor of Astronomy at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, professional radio astronomer,  a lifelong ‘amateur’ optical astronomer, a past president of the Society of Popular Astronomy and a founder member and now patron of the Macclesfield Astronomical Society. Has written several astronomy books for amateurs, produces a monthly ‘Night Sky’ guide for the Jodrell website and writes an ‘Astronomy Digest’ on astronomical topics.

“We set our sighs on the heavens” – and are privileged to be able to offer an Astronomy course in the Autumn now. We cannot guarantee cloudless skies, but a fascinating opportunity to sense the excitement of what is up there is a wonderful opportunity, and is suitable for experienced amateurs as well as those new to the whole thing!
