Sam Riches – (Medieval History)

  • Currently based at Lancaster University
  • Cultural historian – specialist in the religious beliefs and cults of the late medieval period
  • Has published on St George, St Ursula and concepts of gender identity
  • Has given presentations to many significant bodies including British Museum, International Medieval Congresses
  • Media appearances include Channel 4′s The Real Patron Saints,  BBC Radio 4′s The Patron Saints, and Start the Week

Dr Sam Riches is another of our Tutors who brings university-level study to Higham. Behind her themes are often notions of belief and artistic movements that governed past actions and happenings. No prior knowledge is needed, and we sometimes have Part 1 and 2 courses at different times, which can also be attended individually.
