Here is an opportunity to observe in detail some of the plant-based food staples that see us through the darker seasons of autumn and winter. Create a composition or single study at your own pace and in a relaxed atmosphere. Learn to recreate their colours, surface textures and patterns. In the lead up to Christmas there should be a good selection of subjects to choose from – alongside the late apple and pear varieties there will be colourful citrus, quinces and figs; exotic dragon fruits, lychees and physalis; plus a range of nuts, dates and winter squashes. Even brassicas and root vegetables such as the colourful heritage varieties of carrots or even the humble potato, if left to start chitting, can make fascinating subjects worth depicting! Bring your imagination and enthusiasm to create an interesting tableau. This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience and there will be rotating individual tuition throughout.
