Suitable for complete beginners, although some pottery experience will be advantageous to students. Mono-printing with coloured slip is a fun way to decorate a pot before you make it. The technique lends itself to the expressive decoration of boxes, vases, jugs or anything else you can build with slabs. The coloured slip is applied with a slip trailer onto paper and then transferred onto the flat clay slab using a rolling pin. When the clay is leather-hard you can build your slab pot with seamless edge to edge decoration. The pots are fired and glazed after the course by the tutor and can be sent on at cost, or collected from Higham when they are ready.
