Despite the frosty temperatures, colour is beginning to return to the garden with flowering shrubs like winter jasmine or mahonia sparkling against the deep greens of laurel, ivy, varigated hollies or box, and hardy flowers such as hellebores, cyclamen and snowdrops appear in the borders and woodland edges while on windowledges forced bulbs will be bursting into life. Bring your own selection of flowering plants and evergreens to create an interesting botanical study. Work at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere taking inspiration from this first flush of colour. The course features rotating individual tuition throughout and is suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience. You may wish to plant some suitable bulbs in autumn in preparation for this course, although there should also be some available in shops or garden centres in January.
