This course will explore The Beatles and other ‘British Invasion’ groups of the 1960s, most of whom had roots in American Rhythm and Blues. We will also consider the development of Motown Records from a singles-based company to a more album-based one, due to the pioneering work of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. UK folk-rock acts, Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span, who drew inspiration from traditional English folk melodies, will complete the picture.
There is no requirement to have done Part 1 to enjoy Part 2!
