Join us for the third in our series of study days exploring concepts and ideas that shape the world we live in through the lens of art history. We will bring together artists from across the centuries to interrogate the relationship between art and politics and examine how artists have interpreted their role in society, expressed philosophical and ideological positions and interwoven creative practice with social responsibility. From political movements and manifestos to campaigning on climate crisis or human rights, we consider the efficacy and ethics of activism in art and the questions it raises. Friendly and engaging, these sessions are all about broadening knowledge, being curious and exploring different ways of seeing life through art.
