EGYPT’S FEMALE PHARAOH: HATSHEPSUT

The exceptional reign of the female Pharaoh Hatshepsut (c. 1473-58 BCE) produced some of Pharaonic Egypt’s most distinctive art and architecture. This course examines the historical context for Hatshepsut’s time, her ambitious building and innovative artistic programme, and the officials who carried out her wishes.
