INDIGO DYEING

Dyeing with natural indigo is a kind of alchemy. During this fascinating course, you will learn about working with indigo dye using two different reducing agents. Molly will also show you a variety of shibori techniques which are used to pattern fabric and explain how to get deep shades of blue. You will learn how to ‘read’ the dye vat, identify some of the key things that affect it and understand how to make adjustments to the vat when needed. You will leave the course with fabric dyed by yourself and a deeper understanding of this ancient dye.
