Suitable for beginners and improvers. Oil pastels are a beautiful and versatile medium to use, whether for a quick sketch or a finished painting for exhibition. The rich, pure colour of oil pastels can be applied with a myriad of techniques; some we will practice, such as laying on glazes of colour, blending, impasto and sgraffito techniques to create texture and depth. Others we will discuss for you to try at home or in future workshops. Loads of tips, suggestions and recommendations along the way from Paul. Bring along your own photographs or sketch books which we can use to develop a finished piece of art, and don’t forget an apron or old shirt (to protect your clothes) and an A3 size folder to carry your completed work home.
