
THE ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE EARLY STUARTS 1603-1660

In this short course we will explore something of the revolution in art and architecture in England during the first half of the seventeenth-century, associated with such names as Inigo Jones, Charles I, Anthony Van Dyck and Peter Paul Rubens. We will also consider the effects of Civil War, the Puritan Republic and the Restoration on iconography and building.
