Playful yet serious this is a practical creative course exploring the spaces between and around ideas, the gaps and pauses left for imagination to rest and expand, the subtle interplay between physical objects and the written / spoken word. Taking inspiration from different cultural influences, and using the work of ceramicist Edmund de Waal and poet Emily Dickinson as a jumping off point, we will use a variety of innovative approaches to mark-making and text to consider creative space – gaps & dashes – and how we place our thoughts and ideas in the world.
