Join us as we use the power of art to explore the big questions of our time. The third study day in this series which use a broad array of examples from across art history to dig deep into concepts and ideas which affect us all. Led by curator Dr Elizabeth Fisher and artist Alison Critchlow these sessions are friendly, engaging and honest with a straight talking approach- they offer thoughtful ways of using art history to inform the present. Examples from artists working today will be shown alongside historical work- this is all about broadening knowledge, being curious and discussing the challenges of today through the lens of art history. ‘Activism- Oi you!’ – will look at the role of activism in art and the questions it raises. Using examples ancient and modern to dig deeper into edgy territory- environmental, political and philosophical- from climate crisis to human rights.
