Jan designs and makes contemporary woven textiles from her home in Cumbria. She combines wool, silk and natural fibres weaving textiles for fashion, interiors and accessories. Having completed her degree in textiles in the mid 80's she worked at University of Cumbria formally the Institute of the Arts managing the Textile Resource Department. In 2020 she decided to concentrate fulltime making and exhibiting her own work specialising in woven textiles. Jan is a member of The Wool Clip an award winning co operative made up of Cumbrian based wool workers who have a shop at Caldbeck. The aim to add value to British wool and support all handcrafted textiles. Aswell as selling her work in many galleries around the UK, Jan regularly runs weave courses and workshops for a wide range of abilities.   www.janbeadletextile.co.uk
