I have always loved drawing and painting and worked initially as a Cartographical Draughtswoman with the Ordnance Survey, where attention to detail was paramount.  I pursued art at evenings and weekends when family commitments allowed. I work mainly in watercolour, but love the control of coloured pencil, graphite and pen and ink.  I’ve also experimented with gouache on a coloured background. My large garden is a constant challenge, and the landscape of the Lake District where I live is an inspiration. I gained a distinction with the SBA Distance Learning Course in 2010, and was accepted as a full member in 2012, becoming a Fellow in 2020, and have exhibited at their exhibition in London  each year since then. I teach local art groups, and residential courses at Higham Hall near Keswick.  I exhibit locally and at exhibitions further afield.
