Amelia Bedson

Gilt Conservation and Restoration

Amelia holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Cultural Heritage Conservation from the University of Lincoln and specialises in conserving gilt frames, objects, and decorative surfaces. With over six years’ experience in fine arts restoration, she is an active member of the Heritage Crafts Association, supporting endangered skills like composition frame making.

She is presently engaged in frame conservation for the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne and Carlisle Cathedral. Her experience includes the restoration of gilt frames for several high-profile individuals and celebrities. Additionally, she contributes her expertise to charitable organizations such as St Leonard’s Hospice in York by facilitating Heritage Craft workshops to support their fundraising efforts.
