Creative artist and qualified adult teacher from nearby Bassenthwaite
Coral’s teaching experience has been in a vocational setting and she is an advocate of Life Long Learning. She has also been self-employed running her own businesses and started out in this capacity as an Image Consultant in the early 90’s delivering the popular service of Colour Analysis a subject that still excites her today.
She loves to experiment and is interested in techniques that add interest and texture to her art work. She is particularly motivated by the freedom that you get from using a palette knife and has expanded her repertoire by experimenting with sculptural and relief techniques. Developing use of a tool such as a palette knife is one of the key skills for an artist. Coral's courses attempt to address this particular skill in a fun and creative way. With the knife, you get instant results, and can experiment with layering, mixing and all manner of techniques to liven up your artwork and mark making.
The expanse of her interest extends to using differing techniques and mixed media in order to give additional dimensions to her artwork including the use of layering in both fore and backgrounds and the use of stencils, textured paste and other exciting finishes that add interest to a piece of work.
Work is predominantly on canvas and Coral generally provides the materials, which are included in the course price.
