Danielle Saxon Reeves

Danielle began learning to play the classic 5-string fingerstyle banjo aged 9, and has played, performed and recorded ever since, as well as playing the tenor, bass and plectrum banjos more recently. She has taught, run workshops, adjudicated, and has worked on the Victoria College of Music (VCM) Examinations’ Banjo Syllabus for a number of years; she also directs her two community ensembles - Midlands Fretted Orchestra and Friendly Folk (for the Plucking Terrified), and runs annual ‘Pluckybird Playdays’. She particularly enjoys sharing her love of Fretted Instruments and 19th century music with people new to the instruments, and gives regular demonstration talks to various groups to that end. She has performed at concerts and festivals across the UK in all sorts of venues both as a soloist and with various ensembles.
