Deborah Catterall

Choral Singing
  • Has been teaching and conducting since the age of seventeen, lives now in North Wales.
  • has been a singing teacher at Chetham's School of Music, performed at the Royal Academy of Music, The Royal Northern College of Music, The Rye Festival and Manchester Cathedral.
  • Was Musical Director of the National Youth Training Choir of Great Britain taught for the North West Early Music Forum Summer School, singer in lute song duo Lyra and soloist with The York Waits was chosen to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace in gratitude to her contribution to the British music industry (HRH, we are sure, still tells people about the occasion!)

Deb is also one of the Tutors on our successful Early Music Summer School. 

Deborah has the same inclusive approach to her predecessor, Roger (now retired), believing in the sheer joy to be shared with music. It's about being part of something. She has brought a wealth of professional experience to Higham.
