Cathy is a trained upholsterer with the Association of Master Upholsters and Soft Furnishings.  Cathy got the bug in 2009 when she started an evening class in Bassenthwaite.  Magpie fabric collector and general crafter. She lives locally and carries out bespoke commissions for clients. She has taught upholstery and soft furnishing for adults for over 10 years.

Cathy uses traditional upholstery methods and materials: webbing, springs, horsehair, stitched and stuffed, decorative finishes and natural fabrics. As well as modern materials if that suites the age of the chairs: foam, polyester and loose covers.

Her courses are relaxed and support what the learner wants to achieve.
