This is a course for anyone who would enjoy gently walking through woodlands looking for and observing this generally little know family of plants. You will learn to recognise where ferns grow and how different environments play host to different fern species. Course members will become familiar with the variations that exist in the shapes and structures of ferns as well as understanding their unique form of reproduction. For those interested in growing ferns we will include a session looking at how you propagate ferns from spores. Should time permit we will attempt to record the ferns that grow at Higham.
