IDENTIFYING WILDFLOWERS – SUMMER
July 15th at 18:30 to July 18th at 13:30

This course provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to identify wildflowers. We shall cover a range of vascular plants including herbs, grasses and ferns from a range of habitats. The course will include classroom sessions where we explore the structures of plants. We shall also learn how to use a floral key (plant ID book), a useful tool to help you to identify plants. To put your learning into practise we shall visit a range of habitats to look at wildflowers. We can also share useful tips to help speed up the process of identifying species in the field. Stuart is a freelance ecologist, with particular expertise in botanical and habitat surveys. He is also a member of the Flora of Cumbria Recording Group.
