Andrew Leitch & Jim Bownass (Film Archives)
Andrew Leitch is a former BBC and ITV Producer who edited the popular Lookaround programme for many years on Border Television. Jim Bownass is an experienced cameraman and film editor. They formed The Cumbria Film Archive twenty years ago and have released twelve DVD histories about the county which have been very popular. They have gathered a huge amount of fascinating film material over the years that they want to share with people during their entertaining shows. The sessions offered by Andrew and Jim will provide fascinating insights into life gone by in the region. Each time, we endeavour to present something that will interest people who know the region and our surrounding areas, but also of general interest to those who simply enjoy learning about and even reminiscing about times gone by. We hope Higham will become a regular supporter to the immensely valuable work that this local film archive engages in and are planning a series of showcases for them. Our Lecture Room is limited to about 40 seats, so first come, first served!
