Ivan Day is a well known historian of food and culinary culture. Much of his work is in the museum sector and he specialises in the history of the table setting, the British kitchen 1400-1914 and the aesthetics of food. He created and contributed to exhibitions in the UK, North America and Europe. His work has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, the Getty Museum L.A., Minneapolis Institute of Art and recently at the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge. He is the author of a number of books and papers, including "Over a Red Hot Stove", "Ice Cream a History" and "Cookery in Europe 1660 - 1860."
