Kara Strachan is a Southport born artist. Her distinctive style is inspired by her years of floristry, running her own successful business in London.
A move to Staffordshire allowed her appreciation of old English gardens and her fascination with ancient woodlands to develop and influence her painting. At her happiest wandering through woodlands with canvas and acrylic paint.
Kara loves to explore the Northumbrian and Cornish coastlines. She interprets the atmosphere of the sea and skylines capturing the mood on canvas in vibrant acrylics, mixed media and oil mediums. Kara’s paintings are sold in galleries throughout the UK, represented by her publisher Creative Fine Art.
Based at Curborough Countryside Center Kara can be found working on creative projects, exhibiting her latest paintings and running regular painting workshops throughout the year in her studio-gallery. Kara also runs residential workshops in the Lake District and more recently painting workshops on the beach in Northumberland.
