Tom is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow College of Building and Printing.  He is an elected Fellow of Designer Bookbinders and is currently Chairman of the Society of Bookbinders in Scotland.  He teaches and works on commissioned and exhibition design bookbindings from his studio bindery in Scotland's Craft Town, West Kilbride, on the Ayrshire coast.  Examples of his work are held in private and public collections in the UK, EU, USA and Asia.  In 2023 he received 'Trainer of the Year' award from Heritage Crafts.
