Laurence Perkins (woodwind)

  • studied at the Royal Northern College of Music
  • bassoon tutor at the RNCM Manchester, York and Nottingham Universities and many summer schools
  • principal bassoonist with Manchester Camerata 1974-2017,  including concerts worldwide and at the BBC Proms
  • solo concert performances Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room in London, concertos
  • performed with the English Chamber Orchestra
  • member of ‘Cuillin Sound’ ensemble
  • solo CDs include a disc of concertos (5 stars in the BBC Music Magazine)

Laurence brings true masterclass-level wind tuition to Higham.

For Laurence’s courses, if traveling by train, we can pick up students (and their instruments) at 5pm from Penrith Station by prior arrangement for an extra fee. This must be arranged with us in good time beforehand.
