William Blake, renowned for his poem ‘Jerusalem’, is England’s greatest poet/painter. A young disciple of his, Samuel Palmer, found his spirituality in the English landscape, painting images unique to British art. Blake’s complex theology and dramatic pictures are in stark contrast to the gentle pastorals of Palmer’s English countryside.
