JANE AUSTEN – A CELEBRATION OF ONE OF OUR GREATEST NOVELISTS
June 30th at 18:30 to July 2nd at 13:30

This year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, perhaps the best and certainly the most loved of English novelists. From her Hampshire cottage she wrote six novels of family and social life in her time, with such fidelity and human understanding that her work seems to touch upon profound truths of human nature and experience, but always with a kindness and good humour. This course will celebrate her genius with a close look at her novels, including everyone’s favourite Pride and Prejudice, in the context of her life and times.
