FULLY BOOKED: LAKELAND BIRDS

June 1st at 18:30 to June 6th at 09:00

Magnificent scree-covered slopes, tranquil lakes, hanging oak woodlands and dramatic sea cliffs are just a few of Cumbria’s habitats which we will be exploring throughout this five-day course. We will take short local trips to sample the best of Cumbria’s summer birdlife, including Wheatears, Ring Ouzels, Redstarts, Dippers, Pied Flycatchers Wood Warblers and Ospreys to name a few plus, of course, the unforgettable ‘sea-bird city’ at St Bees Head. Although most birds are busy with parental duties, many are still singing and we will be spending time identifying by both sight and sound. Please note, fieldtrips will involve a fair amount of walking.
